I am fascinated by the notion of how one mentally maps walking through complex architectural spaces.

I think about the relationship of one room to another, one level to another and the interior to exterior. In large buildings such as a multiplex cinema or a store like Ikea, we have little or no idea of our position in relationship to the overall building.

In most of our everyday spaces we are surrounded by a complex system of invisible lines which we subconsciously perceive in our attempts to define space; its density, depth and volume.

My drawings are ways of trying to understand these relationships.

The drawings, although conceptual, refer to both real and imaginary spaces and are built block by block from the ground up.
