Michael Kirkman Publications
Gathered Thoughts
44x 61cm
6 colours| Edition of: 75
Michael Kirkman joined us again in November 2011 to produce two new editions, of these latest works Michael says
"The images explore the process of arranging a composition – I have been experimenting with ways of producing separations by deconstructing favourite images and sketchbook drawings, and translating these studies into prints. In doing so, loose sketches gain graphic qualities bringing about a new order to distilled studies, and allow for a different interpretation or narrative to begin. For me printmaking is a continuation of a practice rather than a form of reproduction. It is not the beginning, middle or end of the process of image making, rather an integral part of 'the bigger picture".
